Inadequacy.
I love Bestie, I do.  Who doesn’t love their best friend?  We’ve been friends, truly great friends, for about ten years now and I think she’s wonderful.  She’s one of very few friends for whom Boys was rarely a topic of discussion.  We very occasionally talked about boys or “girlie” things in high school or college or now (even when one of us had/s a...

Someone once praised Literary Bex and complimented me for not being one of those people who are all: “I love reading because of Harry Potter!” I didn’t have the heart to tell them its because I was a teenager when Harry Potter first gained popularity. The interesting thing is I love to read because of L. Frank Baum, C.S. Lewis, Mark Twain and Louisa May Alcott in that order....

100 Most Powerless New Yorkers →
11. NYPD officers working evidence rooms As Graham Raymanreported in the Voice, cops go to the evidence rooms when they’ve been stripped of their guns, their mobility, and the power to police the streets (indeed, just about every reason they became cops in the first place). It is among the most humiliating and least powerful jobs on the entire force. Further, when a cop is sent to guard...

Unnecessary Confessions
I’ve never done Valentine’s Day.  The one year I actually had a boyfriend in February he didn’t “do” Valentine’s Day.  He spouted bullshit about how it’s all a ploy by the greeting card companies.  That day he went to his friends’ kid’s first birthday party and I went to see He’s Just Not That Into You with two single gal friends.  I had...

I think I just got me some temporary work!  I love it!  Cold hard cash will be earned because of my availability and willingness to work odd hours for a limited amount of time. Now if the synagogue will hire me for the same reasons for the same amount of time my financial crisis might not be quite the crisis it’s been making itself out to be.

Without knowing it, today I was able to make someone feel good. Ok, in spite of my financial woes I’ve been bitching about, I’m feeling pretty good right now.  I made cookies with Jacob last night to distract myself from the fact that Erik had left and I made them with Crisco so Beth could take some to work and her friend with a dairy allergy (or intolerance, I don’t know which)...

I am so frustrated by my lack of finances and I’m apparent inability to get a part time/temporary job.  This is currently the biggest headache in my life.  I have bills that I am shortly not going to be able to pay because apparently I don’t interview or job hunt well or effectively.  This isn’t in my skill set.  This is not something I am good at doing.  I don’t think I...

I have some new stuff posted on Scribd.  I’d love to know what you think about it. It’s a part of a series I’ve decided to work on that I’m calling (working title) Stories About Women.  It’s a collection of, gasp, stories about women.

I quite like No. 2’s “Your Gorgeous” by Babybird even though the lyrics are creepy as fuck, the music is poppy and fun.
