I should write an essay about my bizarre childhood obsession with “This Old House” and "The New Yankee Workshop". Anything Norm Abram did was gold in my book. I loved the episodes when he turned table and chair legs… basically anytime he used the lathe I was super excited. I don’t remember too much, but I do vaguely remember them working on the Belmont House from ‘93 and I most definitively remember Norm building stuff in his workshop.
I wish I could remember what it was on after — some sort of kids program — so it was thoroughly eccentric that I watched it, nearly religiously, every week between the approximate ages of eight and ten.
