Desultory and Disillusioned
One afternoon last fall, October probably, we left the house, coffee mugs of wine in hand, and walked to the beach. It was super windy, sand was whipping across the beach, the waves were out of control.  We ran around the deserted beach, taunted the waves and kissed in the sand, the taste of wine and sea salt on our lips.  We sat together on the sand watching the sun move over the sound; we talked about nothing and we talked about everything.  It was a perfect afternoon.
