What I mean when I say Women want Clark Kent not Superman.

• Superman is the guy who is going to be constantly saving you.  I say that like it’s a bad thing.  Because it is.  Failure is a part of growing as a person.  Learning from what has happened and moving on from there is essential for everyone, including women.  If our parents or boyfriends or husbands are constantly doing things for us, constantly saving us then they’re treating us like children and we’ll never grow.  Think Nora in “A Doll’s House”.
• Superman is this male power fantasy.  He is super strong, super fast, has super hearing, has x-ray vision, can shoot laser beams out of his eyes, he can fly, he can survive high atmospheres and being in outer space.  He’s a big hulking guy who would probably crush you if he rolled over in bed… and not in a good way.
• Superman never communicates with Lois Lane.  He tells her some things but not others, partial truths; he never shares everything with her (and when he does he somehow wipes her memory!).
• Clark Kent is a soft spoken, hard working, clever, nice, amiable, nerdy guy.  Granted he neither tells Lois everything (but then she never delves very far does she?  She thinks she’s got Clark all figured out)…
• Clark will give you his coat if your cold.
• Clark will offer to pay the bill, but probably let you pay for yourself if that’s what you want.
• Clark will listen to you bitch about what’s bugging you without offering suggestions on what to do instead and he won’t try to fix anything for you.

Ok, so Clark Kent might be Superman so it’s really quite silly to compare and contrast a guy with himself, but, honestly, Clark is the more attractive of the two personalities.  He’s an honest to goodness real great guy, not a superhero in blue spandex.
