Am I the only woman in the world who doesn’t get the whole Bruno Mars Thing?
I mean, he’s a pretty hipster who has some cute songs that are really a lot of fun and you can move to them, but he’s not that hot. He’s really kind of femmy. And that one music video makes me think he’s kind of a douche.
And his whole image, this homage to Sammy Davis Jr. and James Dean is a little too pat. Like modern day Greasers. I heart rockabilly, I do, but I don’t want to wear only pencil skirts, get cat-eye glasses, and drive a Ford Fairlane. I don’t buy it. I don’t buy what Bruno Mars is trying to sell with this 60s doo wop throwback. Like with most hipsters, it looks fake and costume-y… and not in a Lady Gaga Misfit kind of way, but in a pretentious schmuck kind of way.
