Desultory and Disillusioned
They’re just so likable.  He totally went peaceably when Carson stopped him because of Sybil… He wants her to think highly of him, he wants her to understand him, he wants her to love him, really.

I have to remember not to look at Downton Abbey posts….  so much spoilers, you guys, so much….
Some of us have ourselves roped into the PBS Masterpiece Theater schedule and really can’t have you Brits and Anglophiles giving it away!
Ok, it’s not your fault.  You can’t help that you’re so excited to share your views and pictures of the show.  I just need to remember not to get sucked into it all for another few weeks.
Good lord, I love this show….

I should write an essay about my bizarre childhood obsession with “This Old House” and “The New Yankee Workshop”.  Anything Norm Abram did was gold in my book.  I loved the episodes when he turned table and chair legs… basically anytime he used the lathe I was super excited.  I don’t remember too much, but I do vaguely remember them working on the Belmont House from ‘93 and I most definitively remember Norm building stuff in his workshop.

I wish I could remember what it was on after — some sort of kids program — so it was thoroughly eccentric that I watched it, nearly religiously, every week between the approximate ages of eight and ten.

Fred Rogers makes a plea for funding for public broadcasting—in 1969. Maybe today’s legislators should watch this video. It put such a grin on my face. I miss Mr. Rogers.

Finished re-watching Downton Abbey on PBS.org and oh, man, I cannot wait for the second series!  I just love love love this program.  God bless, Julian Fellowes Kilwillie!
