They’re just so likable.  He totally went peaceably when Carson stopped him because of Sybil… He wants her to think highly of him, he wants her to understand him, he wants her to love him, really.

I should write an essay about my bizarre childhood obsession with “This Old House” and “The New Yankee Workshop”.  Anything Norm Abram did was gold in my book.  I loved the episodes when he turned table and chair legs… basically anytime he used the lathe I was super excited.  I don’t remember too much, but I do vaguely remember them working on the Belmont House from ‘93 and I most definitively remember Norm building stuff in his workshop.

I wish I could remember what it was on after — some sort of kids program — so it was thoroughly eccentric that I watched it, nearly religiously, every week between the approximate ages of eight and ten.
